Embalming (エンバーミング Enbāmingu?) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. It has been running in Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine since the magazine premiered in November, 2007.
It is based on two manga short stories: Embalming: Dead Body and Bride (エンバーミング DEAD BODY and BRIDE?), which was originally published in 2005 in the magazine Jump the Revolution, and appeared later in the final volume of Watsuki's previous manga series, Busou Renkin; and Embalming II: Dead Body and Lover (エンバーミング DEAD BODY and LOVER?), released in a second issue of Jump the Revolution in 2006.
The manga takes place in Europe, sometime in the last decade of the 19th century, and is based on the idea that Victor Frankenstein actually existed and created an artificial human from bodyparts of dead people, and that even 150 years after this event, numerous scientists across Europe are using the notes left behind by Dr. Frankenstein to create their own monsters. These creatures are referred to as Frankensteins in the manga. Embalming follows several main characters who are all involved in the Frankenstein research in different ways. Their stories are told in separate, but interconnected episodes or story archs.

This is a pretty cool manga made by the maker of Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X and Busou Renkin, it's pretty cool. It takes place like 150 years after the events of the Frankenstein novel. During that time people found Victor Frankenstein's notes and secretly started making "Frankensteins" of their own. The first main character's family was killed by a Frankenstein so he tries to hunt it down, after a turn of events this turns into a vendetta against all of Frankensteins. Its a nice read, my only complaint is that it lack of scanlations, but besides that its pretty damn cool. Its dark, bloody, has some nice plot twist. I'd suggest you read this if its your kinda thing.
