And watch the trailer. And you can ignore the thing that says some content in the video may be inappropriate for children because I watched it and it didn't look like adult content, and the game will probably be rated T for teens 13+ anyway, at least that's the rating I'd give based on this video. It's definitely not M or AO rated as one might think from reading that LAME ASS warning which was made by a bunch of MORONS. And now without further ado, please watch this FREAKING AWESOME trailer video for the game.

Pokemon Soul Silver - EV Training

So this being an article I figure my area would be video games, and so I figured I'd do an EV training article. Though it probably wont be long. If you are a competitive player and tend to Wifi battle alot, you probably already know about EV training and the various items and ways to help get the most out of your training. However if you are new to the EV training ordeal, you may be asking what EVs are and what they even do. EVs are Effort Values, these are points that are awarded to Pokemon when they level up. You remember that little screen that pops up after it levels up and shows the increases to the stats? That is what EVs affect, is how much its stats increase upon leveling up.

So, I explained what an EV is, now how do you get EVs? Well you get EVs every time you enter battle, except battles in the Battle Frontier and Battle Tower. There are other ways to get EV too, but the main way is by battling. Do you remember the Protein, HP UP, Iron, Carbos, Calcium and Zinc items? Well each one provides the Pokemon you use it on 10 EVs per item, and only 10 of each item can be used on a single Pokemon. Another thing you should know is that each Pokemon can only have a max of 510 EVs, and a single stat can only have a max of 255 EVs. For example. Say you have a Typhlosion, here is its EV list:

HP: 0
ATK: 255
DEF: 0
SP ATK: 0
SP DEF: 0
SPEED: 255

As you can see the total EVs equal 510, however only Speed and Attack have EVs, this is because you've reached your max. I just had another thought, when it comes to knowing how many EVs you have, there is no in-game way to see how many EVs you have, however there are various EV calculators on the internet and for Soul Silver there is an Action Replay code that does allow you to view your EVs. Now each Pokemon gives specific amounts of EVs varying from 1 to 3. For the number of EVs each Pokemon gives, see Serebii's Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/SoulSilver/HeartGold Pokedex ( Click Here ). On Serebii's Pokedex look for the stat buttons and when you click each of those stats at the far right you should see a category showing how many EVs each Pokemon gives for whichever stat you clicked on. Finding a lot of the Pokemon who give out 3 EVs isn't easy, so if you have an Action Replay, using a wild modifier code to make it so you constantly run into a pokemon with 3 EVs for whichever stat you are working on works best.

I've explained how to get EVs, how many you can get and so on. Now there are some other variables you need to take into account. Do you remember the Macho Brace from the third generation ( Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald )? Well back then it seemed completely useless to a lot of people. However now, its known that the Macho Brace as well as a select few items help with the gaining of EVs, but the Macho Brace is the best item to use when it comes to EV training. It lowers the Pokemons speed that holds it by half in battle so long as it holds the Macho Brace, but doubles the EVs you get from the Pokemon you battle. If you battle a Pokemon that gives 1 EV normally, the Macho Brace gives you double that, so 2 EVs. In the fourth generation games and Soul Silver/Heart Gold you can get specific items that work like the Macho Brace with the same side effect, however they work with only 1 stat. There is an item for each stat. These help speed up the process and definitely work best with the Wild Pokemon Modifier code if you are using the Action Replay to help get those 3 EV Pokemon. There are two other things that affect a Pokemon's EV growth, one being its Nature and second being something similar to the Macho Brace, something that probably a lot of people thought to be useless, the PokeRus. A Pokemons nature affects its EV growth:

Lonely: Attack raised, Defense decreases
Brave: Attack raised, Speed decreases
Adamant: Attack raised, Special Attack decreases
Naughty: Attack raised, Special Defense decreases
Bold: Defense raised, Attack decreases
Relaxed: Defense raised, Speed decreases
Impish: Defense raised, Special Attack decreases
Lax: Defense raised, Special Defense decreases
Timid: Speed raised, Attack decreases
Hasty: Speed raised, Defense decreases
Jolly: Speed raised, Special Attack decreases
Naïve: Speed raised, Special Defense decreases
Modest: Special Attack raised, Attack decreases
Mild: Special Attack raised, Defense decreases
Quiet: Special Attack raised, Speed decreases
Rash: Special Attack raised, Special Defense decreases
Calm: Special Defense raised, Attack decreases
Gentle: Special Defense raised, Defense decreases
Sassy: Special Defense raised, Speed decreases
Careful: Special Defense raised, Special Attack decreases

However there are some natures that do not affect stats, which are; Bashful, Quirky, Serious, Docile, Hardy. Each of the above natures give a +10% boost to the first and a -10% boost to the second. As for the PokeRus, there is actually no action replay code to obtain it and the chances of being infected with it are unlikely, when you do get an infected Pokemon, let it spread the virus to someone else on your team then put one of the infected Pokemon in your box, this way it keeps the PokeRus. The PokeRus works like the Macho Brace, it doubles EVs. Have the PokeRus and Macho Brace on your Pokemon and battle a Pokemon that gives 3 EVs, doing the math you double twice, which is 12 EVs, which means +3 points on whichever stat you are working on when your Pokemon levels up. Another note I should make is that Rare Candies have no effect on EVs. So loading up a Pokemon with enough Rare Candies to make it level 100 makes it half as strong as it could be, if not weaker.

Now, if each EV gave 1 point for each stat every time a Pokemon leveled up, they'd be Super Pokemon. So, now to explain how EVs give actual points upon leveling up. When a Pokemon levels up, they usually get 1 to 2 points on certain stats. Well, after I got into EV training, I looked deeper and deeper into things, and found that every 4 EVs gives 1 point. Battling really low level Pokemon you run into with the action replay code keeps giving tons of EVs for when you level up, giving you some serious point increases.

Keeping all of the above in mind, it seems like a lot of work, so its best to start your EV training at a really low level, hatching eggs into level 1 Pokemon. You can switch out to a stronger Pokemon and the one you just switched out will still get EVs. In the end the work is all worth it, having a power house team seems worth it doesn't it? I hope this is a decent enough article and if not then oh well. Figured I'd do this since I had nothing better to do. Whether its helpful to you or not doesn't matter to me I guess. Hope you at least enjoy the read a little. ;P

What Video Games Teach Men About Sex

Did you know that if a woman repeats herself three times, you have to go gain more experience before hitting on her again? GamesRadar takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the carnal lessons males learn through gaming.

It's called "The Three Strikes Law," and it's common throughout most early Japanese role-playing games. It's completely ridiculous, but in a bizarro world where men only have video games to tell them about wooing the opposite sex, I can see it being quickly adopted by women to help stave off unwanted advances. Heck, it could even work to their favor.

Man: "Hey there, baby."
Woman: "If only I had a sack full of diamonds..."
Man: "Do you want to get it on or what?"
Woman: "If only I had a sack full of diamonds..."
Man: "You want me to bring you a sack full of diamonds?"
Woman: "If only I had a sack full of diamonds..."
Man: BRB

Later games introduced complicated branching dialog trees that might lead a man to assuming that "women like to talk a lot before having sex."

Of course it's not the amount of words you say, but how emotionally engaging your responses are. Just ask BioWare.

Other helpful tips gleaned through gaming include the fact that barmaids really love a guy who kills cellar rats, freeing girls from chains is generally a sure way to get in the pants she might have been wearing before she got chained up, and the fact that despite the instant availability of items just below the soil, you probably shouldn't use contraceptive devices you dig out of the ground.

Sound advice if I ever heard it.
